The Novels of Elsgüer
Episode 5
If I Saw You,
I Don't Remember
If I saw you, I don’t remember is an immersive audiovisual installation that plays with the threshold between body and space by presenting various iterations of a body that is never shown in its entirety and ultimately manifests as the space itself. The movements and presence of this unseen body are translated into large video projections, spatialized sound, live video streams, light compositions and 3D animations based on data analysis and visualisation techniques. This creates an immersive experience that aims to question our perceptions of visibility, inclusion and exclusion, by asking the audience to reflect on how bodies that are deemed invisible can shift, adapt and transform to influence the spaces they inhabit.
The title of this episode, alludes to the idea of actively omitting stories or subjects that we have encountered. This aims to put into question which bodies are validated and remembered within our society and which are overlooked and ignored.
